The Newtown Kennel Club is a club for all breed dog fanciers. Established in 1947, the club has held dog shows at various venues for 78 years. Members currently partake in handling classes, picnics, dinners, and educational events. The club has a civic responsibility to educate, use proceeds to fund canine research at major institutions, fund animal welfare groups and animal foundations. The Newtown Kennel club has also supported the Newtown Police Department K-9 unit in the past. Volunteers are always needed to support community outreach.
Members of the club participate in dog-related sports such as Conformation Showing, Obedience, Lure Coursing, Agility, and Barn Hunt to name a few. This is a welcoming group and get togethers are always among friends, discussing dogs and their latest achievements. Members learn from each other in an environment that embraces the newcomer to the world of dogs. Browse through our pages and get to know us!
